2nd prize for ATP in the competition for the design of a new laboratory and research building
The biopharmaceutical research institute TRON gGmbH (Translational Oncology) is planning a new laboratory and research center for personalized therapies for fighting cancer and other serious diseases on the campus of the University Medical Center Mainz. As part of an architectural and urban planning ideas and concept phase, ATP architects engineers Frankfurt was awarded 2nd place in a two-stage qualification process involving five invited offices.
Expansion of the top management team at ATP Frankfurt
ATP architects engineers Frankfurt has been managed by an integrated leadership duo since October 2002: The architect Matthias Koch now heads the 80-strong team at the integrated design office in Frankfurt am Main alongside the construction engineer and BIM expert Harald Stieber. Thanks to his extensive expertise, he meets all the requirements for further strengthening the ATP brand in the Frankfurt Region.
Modernization of an office building with an elegant entrance
ATP Frankfurt modernized this nine-story office building in the city’s West End for DEKA Immobilien Investment GmbH. The objective of the real estate company was to attract high-quality future tenants, in line with the prominent location and the proximity of the banking district. In cooperation with ATP sustain, we obtained BREEAM In-Use Certification for the building.

Design start: 12/2017, Completion and ready for take-off: 09/2020
In 2017, the planner team ATP architects engineers/amd.sigma strategic airport development was commissioned to completely rework the existing concept for the construction of an additional terminal (T2) for six million passengers per year at Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER). The challenge was to reduce the GFA from 40,000 m² to around 23,000 m² while still being ready for the general opening deadline of October 2020. Today, T2 is “ready for take-off”.
A “smart” building for a technology leader
In Mannheim, where ABB Deutschland was established 120 years ago, ATP Frankfurt is now planning a multifunctional building for agile and customer-oriented work. The building, with a gross floor area of 24,000 m2 should provide a home to around 1,200 employees – from operative teams, the research center, and service divisions.
