ATP architects engineers accepted the invitation from the ECC (European Cultural Centre) to take part in the 5th edition of the TIME SPACE EXISTENCE exhibition, one of the most prominent of the events that run in parallel with the Architecture Biennale. The Palazzi Bembo and Mora on the Canale Grande and the Giardini della Marinaressa are hosting the contributions of more than 200 participants from 51 countries between 22nd May and 21st November 2021.

According to Partner Dario Travaš, ATP’s contribution to the exhibition focuses on a philosophical investigation of the integrated design approach that is the lifeblood of the company.

We were inspired by the 2,000-year-old olive trees on the island of Pag”, says the native of Croatia. Their ability to optimize their lebensraum over many centuries suggests an analogy with the digital design method of Building Information Modeling (BIM): “The basic principle behind both our integrated design and BIM as a tool makes it possible for us to create optimized, sustainable buildings and, thus, to minimize any waste of resources. Our values of collaboration, dialogue, and enthusiasm enable us to cultivate an integrated environment and close the loop to the olive grove and its steadfast relationship with time, space, and existence, which establishes an optimal aesthetic and functional context.

The installation in Palazzo Bembo, which is a short walk from the Rialto Bridge, can be seen as an “integrated environment”, which interprets the holistic approach of the integrated designers within a space-time framework. A three-dimensional platform interactively interweaves the Vitruvian architectural principles of Utilitas, Firmitas, and Venustas – firmness, utility, and delight - with ATP’s core value of integrated cooperation and the EU’s sustainability criteria within a time-space framework. Full-height projections draw visitors into the digital design world of ATP and transform the exhibition into a multimedia experience.
