The national Border One Stop Shop (B.O.S.S.) pilot project brings together all of the Port of Hamburg’s import and customs controls under one roof. This makes the city a pioneer of the European strategy of carrying out controls at all EU access points at the same time and in one place.
The outline idea from the team at ATP Hamburg led by Head of Design Alexander Montero creates a self-confident landmark at the gateway to the city. The building combines architectural finesse with the functionality and efficiency required by the range of movement patterns and user needs.
In line with the Green Deal, sustainability has top priority: high levels of airtightness and insulation and a reduction in thermal bridges minimize the building’s energy needs. Ecological, sustainable materials create healthy working spaces. By ensuring the ability of the building to be dismantled and recycled at an early stage, it can be guaranteed that it will be used in flexible, sustainable ways and removed in an environmentally friendly way at the end of its life.
The project will be realized by Sprinkenhof GmbH.
