Ever since its foundation in 2020, ATP architects engineers Hamburg has been growing strongly. More than 60 planning experts are now working in the office. The top management team has recently been expanded and is now a duo: The engineer Lars Schwertner and the Managing Director and architect ETH Albert Achammer form the new integrated dual leadership of the young office.
“The appointment of Lars Schwertner to the leadership team means that ATP Hamburg is now a fully integrated office. I’m delighted about this structure. As we work together, we’ll be able to productively complement each other, deepen our understanding of each other’s point of view, and generate extensive knowhow that will help us to make the world an even better place with our buildings,” explains Albert Achammer.
Lars Schwertner is perfectly equipped for his new role as Managing Director: His comprehensive knowhow is based on over 17 years of design experience. And he has been able to employ his structural engineering expertise in the management of a large number of major projects. Integrated design at ATP offers him the ideal opportunity to apply his profound understanding of interrelationships. At the same time, his qualification as a DGNB Consultant enables him to identify with ATP’s focus of sustainable design.
“I chose ATP because I’m completely convinced by the integrated way of working and the impressive corporate structure, with its numerous design offices and consulting companies. As Managing Director, I particularly value the clear focus on sustainable design and on the construction sector’s responsibility to the environment, as underlined by the ATP Green Deal,” emphasized the engineer.
Lars Schwertner wants to use his experience as the head of an office and his extensive knowledge of the Northern German market to strengthen the presence of ATP in Hamburg and across the north of the country so that it can fully exploit the potential of this metropolitan region.
“I’m really excited by the opportunity to help to shape the future of our young Hamburg office. As Managing Director, I will focus on increasing awareness of costs and cost-effectiveness with the aim of ensuring the long-term development of the company. Communicating an understanding for the concerns of other groups and encouraging the team to take full account of their client’s needs are amongst my key interests. And, last but not least, I aim to ensure that employees never stop learning as a means of guaranteeing the optimal quality of our work,” adds Lars Schwertner.
The highly qualified engineer is particularly enthusiastic about the commitment of his team and the culture of cooperation in the ATP network: “I’m really impressed by the openness of all employees, not just in Hamburg but in all ATP offices. The company-wide support that I’ve enjoyed since day one shows that we all understand that we can only safeguard our market position by working together – and this is the secret of our success. The readiness to question and reimagine existing structures creates a dynamic and innovative working atmosphere. For me, it is essential to maintain the team’s understanding for cooperation and desire to shape the future.”
